New Sudan Insurance Company

Born out of the vision of the late Chairman Dr. John Garang De Mabior, the New Sudan Insurance Company was formed with the core mission of developing indigenous capacity who are capable of running the insurance industry of the Republic of South Sudan.

The Company was legally incorporated in September 2007 at the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Constitutional Development (currently the Ministry of Justice). It is one of the very few Companies which was licensed by the Bank of South Sudan to transact professional insurance business in South Sudan, having fulfilled the paid-up capital of USD 3 Million required by the Bank of South Sudan.

Even since, the Company has been growing considerably earning the trust and support of various members of the insuring public, which include Government Ministries, Commissions, Corporate, NGO/IOs and individuals by transacting a professional and ethical insurance undertaking.

The Company has representations in 7 contact offices in South Sudan: Bentiu, Bor, Wau, Yei, Kajo Keji, Kaya and Nimule. In 2015, it plans to spread further to Rumbek, Yambio, Kwajok and Aweil.

About Us

The Company provides all Property and Liability insurance policies, including Motor (third party/comprehensive), Marine (cargo, hull), Goods- in-transit,, Money insurance, Fidelity Guarantee, Fire & Allied perils, Burglary & housebreaking insurance, Industrial All risk insurance, Engineering insurance (CAR, CPM, EAR), Public liability, Group Personal Accident and Medical insurance among others.

In early 2013, the Company expanded its product range by introducing Medical insurance throughout South Sudan by partnering with Fidelity Life of Zimbabwe. It has also introduced Political Violence & Terrorism cover in June 2014.It continues to explore needs which are not met to design relevant products which are needed by the market.

The head office of the Company is in Nimra Talata, Block 1, Juba. The Company has various branches/contact offices throughout the Republic of South Sudan through which it spreads its services to the general public.

The Company is owned by Wawat Securities of the Republic of South Sudan and a minority shareholding from the National Insurance Corporation of Eritrea Share Company.

The Company is supported by first class rated reinsurers led by Munich Re as well as Africa Re, Zep Re (PTA Re) and prominent reinsurance brokers such as J.B. Boda Co. Ltd, Afro-Asian insurance & reinsurance brokers and CK Re of London.

The head office of the Company boasts a dedicated V-Sat and accesses online support of its operations through a renowned insurance software provider in London, Morning Data Ltd.
