Adefila & Partners evolved from the older partnership of Adefila, Akinsomi, Salako and Partners which was established in April 1985, with Mr. Thomas Kolawole Adefila serving as the Principal Partner. The old partnership of Adefila, Akinsomi, Salako and Partners was a natural consequence of long term association, friendship and professional interaction between the key foundation partners. The three partners were classmates at the Department of Estate Management, University of Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) between 1973 and 1977 vying for honours in their pursuit of the study of Estate Management. Upon leaving university, two worked together in Wemabod Estate between 1978-1980, while one left to join the third at Knight Frank where two had worked together until the three decided to form the older partnership in 1985.
