The playwright narrates the journey of love between The Flower and The Suitor while they both have to jump hurdles and the grip of the spirit husband, The Muchwezi. The play advances with different mood switches, traditions, and cultures. Towards the climax, The Muchwezi jealously reminds The Flower that, her father freely offered her as a bride in exchange for wealth…

The genre of the book is a blend of both poetry and play. The aim of this attribute is to mix two things and come up with an innovative piece of art. It is the first poetic play in the whole of Uganda. No one other poetic play has been graced the scenes yet. 

This is a book you can buy for an adult to teach him or her about the cultures of Uganda and how different people deal with poverty and love. This is a story that is a blend of English and the local languages of Uganda – Rukiga and Luganda.   

About the Author: Zziwa Zinabala is a population scientist by profession and M&E officer. The Muchwezi, The Flower & The Suitor is his debut poetic play. He is planning to publish the sequel for this poetic play – that was published in 2021. The author wishes to one day put his beautiful set piece on an international stage.
